Mr. Koplowitz's work is extremely varied.  He is comfortable designing classically styled renovations and additions, as well as modern lobbies and apartments.

Mr. Koplowitz, holds a Master's degree in Architecture with a specialization in Historic Preservation.  Prior to opening his private practice, he worked with several prestigious firms, notably, Beyer Blinder Belle and Skidmore Owings and Merrill, and as a consultant to Urbahn Associates. At Urbahn, he led a team identifying exterior repairs for Grand Central Terminal.

His recent work has been described as 'sublime'.  He appreciates the original design intent of older buildings.  He is often asked to revise, remove and create new additions to traditional properties.  In contrast to strict preservationists who feel mandated to maintain changes over time, Mr. Koplowitz creates additions and alterations that demand respect in their own right.
