Daniel Koplowitz established Preservation Design Group in 1988. 

His eclectic practice is the result of varied experience.  In part, his early years  were spent  living overseas, in France, Italy, Brazil and Belguim. He began his professional career in Washington, DC  and came to New York after receiving a Masters degree in Architecture specializing in historic preservation.  


Whether restoring historic buildings or expanding and renovating others, he is committed to achieving a result that serves his clients' needs and provides beauty and lasting value. 

He pursued Historic Preservation not only to preserve the built environment, but to recycle, restore and upgrade existing buildings for energy conservation purposes. His approach, and that of the preservation movement in general, has been touted as one of the  most  'Green'  and energy conserving practices.
